​Roy Medical Associates, Inc. is committed to providing each patient with an exceptional level of care and attention. Our dedicated staff works together as a team to provide high-quality comprehensive care. Dr. Roy takes pride in paying close attention to each patient's needs.  Our office is located on the San Ramon Regional Medical Center campus in San Ramon, CA.  

We provide primary care services and Infectious Disease consultation to adults and adolescents, ages 16 and older.  Dr. Roy, is a board-certified internist and is trained to manage both common and complex disorders, from the initial presentation of illness through long-term treatment. Our practice philosophy is conservative and current; recommendations for care are based on reliable, unbiased medical evidence.

Dr. Bakul Roy

 Bakul Roy is a diligent and highly capable internist and infectious disease specialist based in San Ramon, CA. Originally from England, Dr. Roy received his medical education from the Katsurba Medical College in India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Deaconess Hospital and his fellowship program at the Rush Presbyterian – St. Luke’s Medical Center and the University of California, San Francisco. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. 

Patients see Dr. Roy for a myriad of reasons, including urology problems, varicose veins, pyelonephritis, dyspareunia, thalassemia, psoriasis, vertigo, urinary tract infection, incontinence, and interstitial lung disease. Dr. Roy also offers a wide range of procedures, such as pre-travel checkups, comprehensive allergy testing, prostate cancer screenings, EKGs, pre-sports physicals, Pap smears, dermatology consultations, pulmonary function testing, lipids checkups, and blood work. His consultations are always very exhaustive and informative. 

What services do we provide?

 Preventive services, physical exams, comprehensive allergy testing and treatment, new to medicare exams, diagnosis of chronic conditions (such as hypertension and diabetes), diagnosis and management of acute illnesses (such as colds, flu, and allergies), coordination of care with specialists, outpatient consultation, infectious disease consultation, & pre-operative evaluations. 

Appointments & Prescriptions


Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  The office is closed for lunch from 12:00-1:30 pm every day.

Please call us at (925) 866-8080 before 10:30 am to make an appointment for urgent (same-day) appointments.  If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Room.

Missed or cancelled appointments, within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment, will be subject to cancellation fees. Please contact office for further details.

The best time to obtain a refill or renewal for your prescription is at your appointment.  Most prescriptions are sent directly to your preferred pharmacy before you have left the office.  Most mail-order pharmacies will accept a direct FAX from our office.  If you have a mail-order pharmacy that requires use of a proprietary form, please ask Dr. Roy for a printed prescription; he will gladly provide one for you to submit to your pharmacy.

If you need a renewal prior to your appointment, please contact your pharmacy and they will send us a refill request via FAX.  Please plan ahead; it may take up to 2 business days for our office to authorize your prescription.

Controlled substances, such as narcotic pain relievers and some sleeping pills, require an appointment.  

Drug samples are not stocked in our office.  Short-term prescriptions can be written if you wish to try a new prescription for a short time period.
